Spokane Valley, WA – Deputies in Spokane Valley made several arrests this week following a series of retail theft investigations involving both adults and juveniles, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
On January 28, deputies responded to a theft report in the 500 block of E. Sprague Avenue. Store employees detained a suspect identified as 49-year-old Chad Weaver, who allegedly concealed items and attempted to leave without paying. Deputies said Weaver, previously trespassed from the business, was arrested for burglary, theft, and possession of a controlled substance.
Later the same day, around 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to another theft at a business in the 13700 block of E. Sprague Avenue. A 17-year-old male was arrested after allegedly stealing liquor bottles and vape pens valued at approximately $160. Another juvenile was detained nearby.
Just hours later, around 8:45 p.m., deputies investigated a third incident at a business in the 15500 block of E. Sprague Avenue, where three additional juveniles were accused of stealing alcohol and cannabis products. Two 16-year-olds were booked for theft and possession of controlled substances.
On January 27, deputies were again called to a business in the 14700 block of E. Indiana Avenue. A 16-year-old male allegedly stole a $150 necklace and later assaulted a store employee during recovery efforts. The teen was arrested and booked for theft and fourth-degree assault.
Authorities say ongoing partnerships with Spokane Valley businesses continue to help identify repeat offenders and reduce property crimes in the area.
