Kirkland, NY – Authorities have identified the driver who died following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Bristol Road in the Town of Kirkland.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, deputies responded around 10:20 a.m. on January 28, 2026, after reports of a personal injury accident involving a 2025 Nissan Rouge. The driver, identified as 70-year-old Salvatore Noti, was found deceased inside the vehicle.
Investigators say Noti had been traveling northbound on Bristol Road when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle, striking a mailbox on the eastern shoulder before crossing into the southbound lane and hitting an embankment. The impact caused the vehicle to come to rest along the roadway’s western shoulder.
Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures, but Noti was pronounced dead shortly after first responders arrived. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Kovac Ambulance, the Clinton Fire Department, and Clinton Collision.
