Oswego, IL – A 44-year-old Aurora man faces several felony charges following a deadly incident Tuesday evening in Oswego, according to police.

Oswego Police said Ryan D. Dodd has been charged with first-degree murder, home invasion, armed violence, residential burglary, and aggravated stalking after a woman was found dead inside a home on Valentine Way on January 27, 2026.

According to investigators, officers responded to the 400 block of Valentine Way around 1 p.m. after a caller reported that his wife was in danger and unresponsive. Upon arrival, first responders found the woman deceased inside the residence.

Authorities said Dodd, who allegedly had prior contact with the victim, fled the area before officers arrived. Using video surveillance and license plate data, police tracked a vehicle believed to be involved to nearby roads, where officers later located and arrested Dodd without incident.

The Kendall County Major Crimes Task Force and Kendall County Coroner’s Office are assisting in the investigation. An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death was scheduled for Thursday, January 29, officials said.

Dodd was booked at the Oswego Police Department and transported to the Kendall County Jail, where he remains held pending court proceedings.

Authorities say the case remains active, with additional information expected as the investigation continues.
