Denver, Colorado – Temperatures across much of northeastern Colorado are expected to remain near to slightly above seasonal averages through the end of the workweek, with the primary change arriving Friday as a cold front moves into the far northeast plains.

According to the National Weather Service Denver/Boulder office, urban corridor and plains locations along Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 36 will see daytime highs ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s Wednesday, including Denver and Boulder. Conditions remain dry, with no precipitation expected across lower elevations during this period.

On Thursday, temperatures are forecast to ease slightly, with highs settling into the lower to upper 40s along I-25 from Fort Collins through Denver. Skies will remain partly cloudy, and travel conditions are expected to stay favorable on major roadways including I-25, I-70 through the metro area, and US-36.

Changes begin late Wednesday into Thursday in the higher elevations. The National Weather Service reports that snow chances will return to the mountains and valleys, particularly along the I-70 mountain corridor. Light snowfall is possible through Thursday, with lower snow chances lingering into Friday. Motorists traveling through mountain passes should remain alert for changing road conditions.

By Friday, a cold front is expected to move into the far northeast Colorado plains, dropping temperatures into the lower 30s to upper 40s across those areas. While the urban corridor will cool slightly, no significant winter weather impacts are expected for Denver-area roadways.

Students, commuters, and outdoor workers may notice the temperature swings later in the week, especially between morning and afternoon hours. Overall, dry conditions will continue across the plains, with mountain travel being the primary area of weather-related concern.
