Phoenix, Arizona – A warming trend is expected to develop across the Desert Southwest early next week, bringing milder temperatures to Arizona and New Mexico as February begins with limited rain and snow chances across the region.
According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, temperatures across the Southwest are expected to trend near to above normal from Monday through Friday, while precipitation remains close to seasonal averages. This outlook favors a quieter weather pattern with fewer organized storm systems.
Across Arizona, the warmer setup should lead to more comfortable daytime conditions, particularly in the lower deserts. In New Mexico, the pattern reduces the risk of widespread snow outside of higher elevations, helping improve travel conditions along major corridors such as Interstate 40 and Interstate 25.
In the Phoenix metro area, daytime highs are expected to climb compared to late January, supporting steady commuting conditions and increased outdoor activity. Skies should remain mostly clear, with only isolated chances for brief showers well north or east of the Valley.
Residents in higher terrain areas should continue to monitor for localized winter travel issues, but overall impacts appear limited. The National Weather Service notes outlooks will be refined as February approaches, and additional advisories could be issued if the weather pattern changes.
