Cheyenne, Wyoming – A milder but breezy weather pattern is expected across southeast Wyoming on Wednesday, with warmer temperatures and a chance of snow showers in higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wednesday will begin mostly sunny across the region before clouds increase during the afternoon. High temperatures are forecast to rise into the 40s and low 50s across lower elevations, making Wednesday the mildest day of the midweek period for many communities.

Cheyenne is expected to reach the upper 40s to near 50 degrees, while similar temperatures are forecast for communities along major transportation corridors such as Interstate 25 and Interstate 80. Breezy conditions are expected to develop, particularly in wind-prone locations and higher elevations, which could impact travel for high-profile vehicles.

Snow showers are possible in the Sierra Madre Range and surrounding higher terrain Wednesday afternoon and evening. While accumulations are expected to be light and limited mainly to higher elevations, brief reductions in visibility are possible along mountain roads such as Wyoming Highway 130 and other routes crossing elevated terrain.

Wednesday night will turn colder, with lows dropping into the teens and 20s across much of the area. Mostly cloudy conditions will persist overnight, especially near the mountains, where occasional snow showers may linger.

The National Weather Service noted that while lower elevations should remain dry, drivers traveling through mountain passes should remain alert for changing conditions due to snow and gusty winds. Blowing snow is not expected to be widespread but could occur in localized higher-elevation areas.

Residents planning travel along I-25, I-80, or mountain highways are encouraged to monitor road conditions and forecasts, particularly later in the day and overnight. Outdoor workers and commuters should also be prepared for breezy conditions.

Additional forecast updates will be issued as conditions evolve through midweek.
