Green Bay, WI – Bitter cold conditions continue across the Green Bay area Monday morning, with wind chills ranging from -20 to as low as -35 degrees, prompting a Cold Weather Advisory through noon, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service in Green Bay said the coldest wind chills were observed during the early morning hours, with the most extreme values focused west and north of the Fox Valley. Green Bay and surrounding communities are experiencing wind chills between -20 and -25 degrees, cold enough to cause frostbite on exposed skin in a short period of time.

Forecasters said temperatures will remain well below normal throughout the week, with overnight lows falling below zero on most nights. While daytime wind chills are expected to gradually improve later today, dangerous cold conditions may persist during shaded areas and in open, wind-exposed locations.

The National Weather Service advised residents to limit time outdoors, dress in multiple layers, and ensure pets remain indoors. Those with livestock or outdoor animals should provide warm shelter, unfrozen water, and adequate food. Officials also urged residents to take precautions to protect pipes and heating systems from freezing.

Morning commuters, students, and outdoor workers should prepare for extreme cold exposure, especially while waiting for transportation or clearing snow. Vehicles may experience difficulty starting, and emergency kits are recommended.

While the cold pattern remains entrenched through midweek, more seasonable temperatures are expected to return this weekend, offering relief from the prolonged arctic air mass.

The National Weather Service will continue to monitor conditions and issue updates as needed.
