Quad Cities, Iowa/Illinois – Accumulating snow is possible across the Quad Cities region this weekend, with the highest chances south of Interstate 80 as another winter storm moves through the Midwest.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, the system is expected to impact the area from Saturday into Sunday. Current forecasts show a 40 to 60 percent probability of at least 2 inches of snow across parts of southeast Iowa and west-central Illinois, including areas near Burlington, Keokuk, Galesburg, and Macomb.

Lower but still notable probabilities extend into the Quad Cities metro area, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Rock Island, and Moline, where accumulating snow remains possible depending on the storm’s exact track. Forecasters note that areas south of I-80 are most favored for impactful winter weather at this time.

The National Weather Service cautions that uncertainty remains regarding snowfall amounts and placement, as small shifts in the storm track could significantly change impacts. However, even modest accumulations could lead to slick roads and reduced visibility, particularly during periods of steadier snowfall.

No winter warnings or advisories have been issued yet, but officials urge residents to closely monitor forecast updates as confidence increases.

The potential timing may affect weekend travel and early Sunday commuters across the Quad Cities region. Drivers are encouraged to plan for changing road conditions and allow extra travel time if snow develops.

Additional forecast updates are expected as the storm approaches.
