Cincinnati, Ohio – A widespread winter storm could bring significant snowfall and dangerous travel conditions across much of Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeast Indiana beginning Saturday, with impacts lasting through late Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Winter Storm Watches remain in effect from Saturday morning through late Sunday night for a large portion of the Ohio Valley. Snow totals are expected to vary by location, with the heaviest accumulations—between 8 and 11 inches—possible across southwest Ohio, northeast Kentucky, and southeast Indiana. Areas farther north, including central Ohio, could still see substantial snowfall ranging from 4 to 8 inches.

In Ohio, Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Chillicothe, Portsmouth, and surrounding communities are all included in the watch area. Hamilton, Clermont, Warren, Butler, Clinton, Fairfield, and Pickaway counties could experience prolonged snowfall that makes roads slick and difficult to navigate. In northern Kentucky, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Mason, and Pendleton counties face similar risks, while southeast Indiana counties such as Dearborn, Ripley, Fayette, and Franklin are also expected to be impacted.

Travel may become very difficult at times, especially Saturday night and Sunday as snowfall intensifies. Residents are urged to alter travel plans if possible, prepare emergency kits, and monitor updates closely. Watches may be upgraded as confidence increases, with hazardous conditions likely lingering into early next week.
