Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas – A cold and mostly cloudy day is expected across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex today, with little impact to travel but increasing concerns tied to gusty winds and dry conditions farther south.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a few isolated snow flurries are possible this morning into early afternoon along and north of Interstate 20, including parts of the DFW area. Any flurries that do occur are not expected to accumulate and will have no impact on roadways. Major routes such as I-35E, I-30, I-635, and U.S. 75 are expected to remain dry.

Temperatures across the Metroplex will hold in the mid-40s today, reinforcing a cold, raw feel but without winter travel hazards. Visibility reductions are not anticipated, and no winter advisories are in effect.

The bigger concern shifts south and west of the Metroplex this afternoon, where low humidity and increasing winds will create an elevated fire threat across portions of Central Texas. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph are expected in areas near Waco, Killeen, and Temple, combined with very dry vegetation.

While road conditions remain favorable in DFW, residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure trailer chains, and use caution with any activities that could spark fires, especially south of the Metroplex.

Cold and quiet conditions continue tonight, with no additional weather-related travel concerns expected across North Texas today.
