Portland, Oregon – A relatively quiet weather pattern is expected to dominate much of Oregon between Tuesday and Saturday, keeping rain and snow chances limited across the state. While occasional light precipitation remains possible, confidence is increasing that no major storms will impact Oregon during the Jan 20–24 period.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, Oregon trends near to slightly below normal for precipitation during this window, reducing the likelihood of strong Pacific systems pushing inland. Temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal averages, with no strong signal for extreme cold or unusual warmth.

In western Oregon, including Portland, Salem, and Eugene, dry conditions are expected to outweigh any brief rain chances. Light showers may pass through at times, but prolonged rainfall appears unlikely, easing concerns for flooding or river rises. Travel along I-5, U.S. 26, and Highway 99W should see minimal weather-related disruptions during this stretch.

Across the Cascades, snow chances remain limited, with only light accumulations possible during weak disturbances. Passes such as Santiam Pass, Willamette Pass, and Government Camp could experience brief slick conditions, but significant snowfall is not expected. Eastern Oregon, including Bend, Redmond, Pendleton, and La Grande, is also forecast to remain mostly dry, with cold nights and quiet daytime conditions.

Residents should continue to monitor updates, but current signals favor a calm late-January pattern across Oregon. This quieter stretch is expected to persist through the Jan 20–24 timeframe, with no widespread advisories anticipated unless conditions shift.
