Paducah, Kentucky – A noticeable shift in the weather pattern is set to unfold across western Kentucky and the surrounding tri-state region, with one more cool day Sunday followed by a steady warmup that brings springlike temperatures back by the middle of the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, clouds increase Sunday with highs ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s, while overnight lows dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s. Conditions improve quickly Monday as sunshine returns and warmer air moves in, pushing afternoon temperatures into the mid and upper 50s across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri.

The warming trend strengthens Tuesday, with highs climbing into the low to mid-60s for many communities, including Paducah, Mayfield, Murray, and Metropolis. Milder nights accompany the warmup, with lows rising into the 40s. Wednesday and Thursday maintain the above-normal warmth, though cloud cover increases late Wednesday as the next system approaches.

Rain chances increase Wednesday night into Thursday, with a 50 to 60 percent chance of showers by Thursday. While no significant impacts are expected at this time, wet roads could affect travel during peak commute hours.

The overall pattern favors mild, January-defying temperatures through late week, with additional updates expected as rain timing becomes clearer.
