Fort Worth, Texas – North and Central Texas are settling into a pleasant stretch of weather to close the weekend, but bigger changes are ahead as temperatures climb sharply into midweek before rain chances return and a cold front ushers in cooler air by the end of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a warming trend will continue through at least midweek, with highs climbing well above seasonal averages. Monday brings highs in the lower to mid-70s across much of North Texas, warming into the upper 70s and low 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Central Texas, including Waco and Killeen, may briefly reach the low 80s during the warmest part of the week, while overnight lows remain mild in the 50s.
Patchy fog could develop during the morning hours Monday, mainly south of Interstate 30 and along and east of Interstate 35, potentially affecting early commuters. Otherwise, dry and warm conditions dominate until midweek.
Rain chances increase Wednesday night into Thursday as scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms develop. While severe weather is not expected, lightning will be the primary hazard. A cold front follows on Friday, bringing cooler temperatures and drier air into the weekend.
Residents should enjoy the mild stretch but stay weather-aware as rain chances return midweek and cooler conditions follow shortly after.
