Green Bay, Wisconsin – A fast-moving clipper system is set to move into Wisconsin Sunday afternoon and evening, bringing a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain that could make travel hazardous across much of the state, especially Sunday night into early Monday. Drivers should be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions as precipitation types shift through the evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, snow will be the dominant precipitation type across northern Wisconsin, where colder air supports higher snow totals. Farther south, including central and eastern parts of the state, snow is expected to mix with sleet at times, with a brief period of freezing rain possible Sunday evening or overnight into Monday.

Snow accumulations are expected to be greatest across the Northwoods, where several inches are possible from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. In east-central and northeast Wisconsin, including the Fox Valley and Green Bay area, lighter snow totals are expected, but ice accumulation of a few hundredths of an inch could still create slick roads, bridges, and sidewalks. In the worst-case scenario, isolated spots could see up to a tenth of an inch of ice.

Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate Sunday evening, particularly for those with nighttime plans. Motorists are urged to slow down, increase following distance, and check road conditions before heading out. Lingering precipitation may taper off Monday morning, but additional advisories could be issued if icing becomes more widespread.
