Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Drivers across southeast Wisconsin should stay alert this weekend as light snow returns today and again Sunday, followed by a growing concern for freezing drizzle and fog that could make roads slick by Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, scattered snow showers are expected this morning through early afternoon, with most locations seeing little to no accumulation. Any snow that does fall today should remain minor, though brief reductions in visibility are possible during heavier bursts.

Attention then turns to Sunday afternoon and evening, when another round of snow develops. Forecast amounts range from a trace to around half an inch for most of the area, with locally higher totals up to 1 inch possible north of I-94. The best chance for measurable snow extends from Fond du Lac toward Sheboygan, while areas south of I-94 may see little accumulation.

The greater concern arrives late Sunday night into Monday morning. As snow tapers off, freezing drizzle and fog may develop, especially across east-central Wisconsin. Even light icing could create slippery roads, bridges, and overpasses during the Monday morning commute.

Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and surrounding communities should plan for changing road conditions through the weekend. Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and be cautious during early morning hours.

Forecasters note that small temperature changes could affect icing potential, and additional advisories may be issued if confidence increases. Updates are expected as Sunday night approaches.
