Greenville, South Carolina – Residents across the Upstate will feel a colder, damp edge to the day as light rain and drizzle linger through early afternoon, followed by clearing skies and a sharp temperature drop overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, clouds will dominate much of Saturday with occasional light rain or drizzle, keeping temperatures several degrees cooler than Friday. Afternoon highs are expected to remain in the upper 40s to lower 50s for most of the region, including Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Pickens, with slightly warmer readings possible toward the southern Upstate.

Roads may stay damp at times, especially during the morning and midday hours, which could slow travel. Rain amounts will remain light, and no flooding concerns are expected. Winds stay relatively light, limiting additional impacts beyond the persistent chill.

Conditions improve quickly after sunset as drier air moves in. Skies are expected to clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall efficiently. By daybreak Sunday, lows are forecast to drop to near or below freezing across much of the Upstate, including Greenville, Spartanburg, and surrounding foothill communities. Colder spots in the northern counties could dip into the upper 20s.

Sunday brings a brighter outlook with sunshine returning, though the morning will start cold. Residents with sensitive plants, outdoor pets, or exposed pipes should take precautions tonight.

Forecasters say the dry pattern holds into Sunday, with calmer weather expected as the region transitions out of the chilly weekend setup. Additional updates will be issued if temperatures trend colder than expected overnight.
