Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Winter keeps a firm hold on western Pennsylvania this weekend, with cold temperatures, stubborn cloud cover, and a chance for light snow or flurries tonight creating occasional slick spots, especially after dark.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, skies will remain mostly cloudy today with afternoon highs ranging from the low 20s to near 30 degrees across much of the region. Sunshine will be limited, and temperatures will stay cold enough to prevent melting on shaded roads and sidewalks.

Conditions turn slightly more active tonight as very light snow or flurries develop across parts of western Pennsylvania. Accumulation is expected to be minimal, but even a dusting could create slick patches on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses. Overnight lows are forecast to fall into the mid to upper teens, allowing any moisture to freeze quickly.

Sunday brings a similar pattern, with more clouds than sun and afternoon highs reaching the mid 20s to lower 30s. While no significant snowfall is expected during the day, cold pavement and lingering moisture could continue to impact travel at times.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution during nighttime and early morning hours and allow extra time when traveling. The quiet but cold pattern is expected to persist into early next week, with additional updates issued if snow chances increase.
