Oklahoma – The air feels calm now, but change is brewing fast across Tulsa and much of eastern Oklahoma. Mild sunshine and 60-degree highs will soon give way to a pair of cold fronts, ushering in brisk north winds, plunging temperatures, and a weekend chill that’ll feel like winter’s first real push into the Plains.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa says the first front slides through late Thursday into Friday, bringing cooler, drier air and gusts up to 30 mph. A stronger Arctic push arrives Saturday, dropping highs to near 32°F by Sunday and sending wind chills into the teens.

While no precipitation is expected, forecasters warn that fire weather risks may increase briefly as dry air and gusty winds combine before the front passes. By Saturday night, any outdoor warmth will fade fast — lows could fall into the upper teens to low 20s across northeast Oklahoma.

Plan to bundle up for early weekend errands or Sunday church services — and if you’re traveling on I-44 or Highway 75, expect cold crosswinds and sharply falling temperatures by Saturday evening.

Five-Day Outlook:

  • Friday: Sunny, high 52°F, low 30°F.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 51°F, low 18°F.
  • Sunday: Sunny, high 32°F, low 24°F.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny, high 45°F.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 54°F.
