WEST YELLOWSTONE, Montana – Yellowstone National Park officials are investigating a concerning incident involving tourists who allegedly placed a baby elk inside their car and drove it to a police station.
According to National Park Service officials, the incident occurred over the Memorial Day weekend. While the reason behind their actions remains unclear, the calf managed to escape and fled into the nearby forest.
Park rangers are currently unaware of the calf’s condition or whereabouts. This incident adds to a series of wildlife encounters at Yellowstone, including injuries and the recent death of a bison calf.
Authorities urge visitors to maintain a safe distance from wildlife and respect park guidelines.
