Little Rock, AR – After a chilly start to Friday with morning lows dipping well below freezing, Arkansans can expect a modest warm-up today, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.

High temperatures are forecast to reach the low to upper 40s statewide, with a few southern and western spots such as Texarkana, De Queen, and Fort Smith climbing near 50°F. Northeastern Arkansas, including Jonesboro and West Memphis, will stay a bit cooler, topping out near 41°F.

The state remains under the influence of dry, high-pressure conditions, meaning skies will stay mostly clear through the day. Despite the sunshine, overnight lows are expected to fall back into the 20s, keeping mornings frosty through the weekend.

No precipitation is expected through Sunday, making for quiet but cool weather as December begins.
