KANKAKEE, IL – Clove Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating sexual violence and supporting survivors, is set to host an impactful one-day conference entitled “Behind the Screen: Child Exploitation in the Age of the Darknet.” Geared towards law enforcement and community professionals, this event will take place on Friday, June 23rd, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Kankakee Community College.

The conference aims to empower attendees in the fight against online exploitation and cyber-trafficking. Through interactive sessions and expert presentations, participants will gain vital insights, including:

  • Understanding how technology, chat rooms, and Darknet communities contribute to the victimization of children, allowing offenders to operate undetected.
  • Recognizing the inherent dangers associated with social networks, chat rooms, and Darknet communities.
  • Examining real-world techniques employed by online predators to groom their victims.
  • Exploring the ways technology is leveraged as a tool for exploitation.

Lunch will be provided, and the conference offers Professional Development (PD) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for attendees. Law enforcement professionals can take advantage of ILETSB-approved training.
