Paducah, KY – A stretch of mild weather will give way to rain and much colder air by midweek, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Paducah. Showers are expected to spread northeast across the Quad State region Monday afternoon and continue through Tuesday before clearing late Tuesday night.
Forecasters say rainfall totals will range from a quarter to one inch, with the heaviest amounts expected along and just south of the Ohio River. A few rumbles of thunder are also possible Monday evening, especially across southeast Missouri and west Kentucky.
After the rain moves out, a strong cold front will sweep through the area, sending temperatures tumbling from the mid-60s Tuesday to highs in the 40s by Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the 20s by Thanksgiving morning, marking a stark change from early-week conditions.
The region will stay dry but cold through Friday, with the next chance of rain returning over the weekend. Travelers are advised to plan ahead for cooler, breezy conditions during the Thanksgiving holiday.
