Wakefield, VA – The National Weather Service in Wakefield reports that rain chances will increase from south to north tonight, with showers gradually spreading across southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina.

Most areas will see light rainfall totals between 0.1” and 0.5”, though localized amounts near 0.75” or slightly higher may occur closer to the coast, especially around far southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.

Rain will taper off from west to east Monday morning, giving way to drier conditions later in the day. While rainfall will be beneficial for parched areas, it is not expected to cause flooding or significant impacts.

By Tuesday, high pressure is expected to return, bringing clearing skies and more seasonal weather to the region.
