SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Pacific marine layer is thick this early Saturday morning, draping the San Diego coastline in a soft gray haze that muffles sound and slows early commuters. Beyond the fog, though, another warm, sunny stretch is building—one that will carry the region comfortably through the start of Halloween week.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, low clouds and patchy fog will lift late this morning, revealing mild sunshine and calm winds. Today’s highs hover near 72°F along the coast, warming into the mid-70s by Sunday and upper 70s to low 80s by Monday. Inland neighborhoods like Escondido and El Cajon could climb a few degrees higher under clear skies.

Drivers along I-5 and I-8 should be alert for reduced visibility early each morning through Monday, particularly near Mission Bay and Chula Vista. The fog may be dense in spots before the sun quickly burns it off by late morning. Once cleared, expect bright skies, light winds, and ideal conditions for outdoor plans or early Halloween decorating.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs rise into the low 80s with dry air returning—a perfect window for late-October beach runs or evening events. Nights stay mild near 60°F, keeping the chill away for trick-or-treat prep.

A chilly November is on the horizon, but for now, Southern California’s golden stretch rolls on.

Five-Day Outlook for San Diego, CA:
Sat: 72/58 – Mostly cloudy early, clearing; calm winds.
Sun: 72/59 – Patchy fog early, sunny later.
Mon: 76/61 – Fog, then clear and warm.
Tue: 82/63 – Sunny and dry; light breeze.
Wed: 83/63 – Mostly sunny; mild evenings.
