COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A pale dawn glows over Pikes Peak as a calm, 35-degree chill grips the Front Range—one of those still, clear mornings that hints at colder air waiting just beyond the ridge. After a mild weekend, southern Colorado will see a shift toward gusty winds and cooler days early next week, signaling the region’s first firm step toward late-fall conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, sunny skies will hold through Monday, but a passing upper disturbance will bring stronger northwest winds—gusting 25 to 30 mph—by late morning. Monday’s highs near 65°F will feel brisk by afternoon as dry air and wind combine. Behind that system, colder air slides south, sending Tuesday’s highs into the mid-50s with lows dipping near freezing.

Residents along I-25 from Monument to Pueblo should secure loose outdoor items and prepare for cooler, breezier commutes. Gardeners and pet owners should note frost potential by early Tuesday, especially in low-lying neighborhoods and open fields west of town.

The pattern turns calmer by Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs rebounding near 60°F—ideal for Halloween week decorating or late-season yardwork. Trick-or-treat conditions Friday look crisp but pleasant, with evening temperatures in the upper 40s under clear skies.

After a stretch of golden fall weather, Colorado’s chillier November rhythm is beginning to take hold.
