Seattle, WA – Seattle residents are encouraged to safely clear out unused or expired medications this weekend as part of the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The Seattle Police Department will host collection sites on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the public can drop off medications anonymously at two SPD locations:

  • SPD North Precinct – 10049 College Way North
  • SPD Southwest Precinct – 2300 SW Webster Street

The nationwide DEA Take Back initiative aims to prevent prescription drug misuse and keep medications out of the wrong hands. Organizers say the event provides a safe, environmentally responsible way to dispose of pharmaceuticals that are no longer needed.

Residents are asked to bring pills and capsules only — no liquids, needles, or sharps will be accepted. The service is free and confidential, with no questions asked.

Those unable to attend can visit DEATakeBack.com to find additional drop-off sites across Washington State.

Community members are encouraged to plan ahead and help promote the effort by sharing event details with neighbors and friends.
