Lombard, IL – Residents interested in serving their community have until this Friday, September 26, at 2 p.m. to apply for one of five open firefighter/paramedic positions with the Lombard Fire Department.
According to the Village of Lombard, the department is seeking applicants to join its team of firefighters and paramedics, who staff two stations and respond to more than 8,000 calls annually. The department emphasizes professionalism, skill, and community service.
The advertised salary range is $86,800 to $130,000, depending on licensure and years of service. Additional benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and sick time, 10 paid holidays, and opportunities for promotion. Applicants enrolled in paramedic school may also receive compensation while training.
Minimum requirements include U.S. citizenship, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must be at least 20 years old at the time of application and 21 at the time of hire. Completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with ladder climb and EMT-B certification at the time of hire are also required. Preference is given to candidates already enrolled in paramedic programs.
