Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee residents are in for one last burst of summer heat this weekend, with temperatures reaching into the 90s and isolated storm chances each afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service Nashville, patchy morning fog is possible in areas that saw rain Friday, but most of Saturday will bring sunshine before storms develop later in the day. Storm activity will mainly affect areas along and west of Interstate 65, with gusty winds up to 40–50 mph possible.

Saturday’s forecast calls for highs between 84 and 94 degrees with lows in the upper 60s. On Sunday, similar conditions are expected, with highs from 82 to 90 degrees. Both days will bring a 20 to 30 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

The best chance for widespread showers and storms arrives Monday, when forecasters predict a 40 to 50 percent chance of rain. Scattered storms could bring stronger gusts and brief downpours, with temperatures cooling slightly into the upper 80s.

Forecasters noted that this weekend could mark the final stretch of 90-degree weather for the year, as fall temperatures begin to settle into the region.

The weather service emphasized that the risk of severe storms remains low, but drivers should watch for reduced visibility in foggy areas during early mornings and be alert for sudden downpours in the afternoons.
