Spokane Valley, WA – A four-hour standoff in Spokane Valley ended Thursday afternoon with the arrest of a wanted felon, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 7400 block of East 4th Avenue after reports of a man refusing to leave a residence. According to deputies, the suspect was identified as 23-year-old Isaac J. Tucker, a convicted felon with an active Washington State Department of Corrections escape custody warrant related to a previous assault charge.

Authorities said Tucker refused repeated commands to exit the apartment. Given his violent criminal history and information that he had previously been armed, the Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiation Team. Deputies obtained a search warrant while continuing to issue announcements warning Tucker to surrender.

When negotiations failed, deputies learned Tucker had barricaded himself in a bathroom. SWAT members deployed chemical irritants, prompting Tucker to surrender around 4:10 p.m. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Officials said Tucker will be medically evaluated before being booked into Spokane County Jail later Thursday on his felony warrant. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
