Philadelphia, Pa. – Patchy fog could slow drivers on I-95 and surrounding roadways early Monday as Pennsylvania starts the workweek with a warm but unsettled stretch of weather. Commuters should plan extra time for the morning drive, as visibility may drop before sunshine breaks through.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, patchy fog will linger through 9 a.m. Monday before skies clear and highs reach 83 degrees in Philadelphia. Light east winds will shift during the afternoon, offering only minor relief from the late-summer warmth. Nighttime conditions will cool to around 62 degrees, leaving evenings comfortable but still humid.

Tuesday brings more clouds, with highs near 81 and lows in the low 60s. By midweek, the chance of rain returns. A 40 percent chance of showers Wednesday night could dampen commutes and outdoor events, with temperatures again near 63.

Motorists on I-95, the Schuylkill Expressway, and regional roadways should remain alert during foggy mornings, keeping headlights on low beam and slowing down when visibility drops. SEPTA riders may also face slight delays during the early morning hours.

The rest of the week leans dry, with partly sunny skies Thursday and Friday. Afternoon highs stay in the upper 70s to near 80, a sign that early fall patterns are settling into southeastern Pennsylvania.

Residents should use this week to prepare for fluctuating conditions by planning outdoor activities around early fog and possible midweek showers.
