PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Summer heat refuses to let go in western Pennsylvania, with near 90-degree highs expected to kick off the workweek Monday. Commuters along I-376 and surrounding highways could face added stress as vehicles and pavement bake under the sun.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, Monday, September 15 will bring clear skies and highs reaching 87 degrees, with light east winds. While dry conditions continue, officials urge residents to stay hydrated, limit outdoor labor during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors as summerlike warmth lingers.
Sunday night’s clear skies will give way to a bright Monday morning, though temperatures will rise quickly into the afternoon. Monday night will remain partly cloudy with lows near 61, keeping the region warm overnight. By Tuesday, the trend continues with another sunny day topping out near 84 degrees.
Heat will finally ease slightly by midweek, with Wednesday’s high closer to 82 under mostly sunny skies. Thursday may start with patchy fog but will clear into another sunny afternoon near 85 degrees. By Friday, a modest cool down arrives, holding highs in the low 80s with partly cloudy skies. A slight chance of showers returns by Saturday.
