Houston, Texas – Southeast Texas will bake under mid-90s heat again Saturday, with storm chances creeping back into the forecast by Sunday and carrying through the work week. Houston could reach 95°F this afternoon, while Katy and Columbus may spike to 96°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston, only slim rain chances remain Saturday, but showers and thunderstorms become more likely Sunday, especially along the coast where Galveston faces a 40% chance of rain. Inland communities including Bay City, College Station, and Huntsville carry a 20–30% chance for storms into early next week.

Marine conditions remain active, with east to southeast winds of 10–15 knots and gusts to 20 knots creating seas of 2–4 feet. Above-normal water levels, topping 3 feet at times, could pose risks for low-lying areas along the upper Texas coast.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and monitor for changing weather Sunday afternoon when storms could bring brief heavy downpours. Boaters should use caution with choppy waters and elevated tides.

Rain chances remain in place into midweek, with scattered showers possible through Thursday.
