Raleigh, N.C. – Dense fog blanketed parts of the Triangle early Friday, cutting visibility to less than a mile before sunrise, but brighter conditions are on the way as a stretch of sunny, mild weather settles in through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, Friday will turn mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s. Drivers are urged to use caution during the morning commute due to reduced visibility on I-40, U.S. 64, and secondary roads around Wake and Durham counties. The fog is expected to lift by midmorning.

Saturday and Sunday bring clear skies and highs in the low 80s, with light northeast winds providing comfortable conditions for outdoor events, including college football games and fall festivals. Nights will be cooler, dipping into the upper 50s to low 60s, making for pleasant evenings.

Travelers should still plan for minor delays early Friday morning due to lingering fog near Raleigh-Durham International Airport. No advisories are posted beyond the fog risk, and forecasters expect the stable weather pattern to hold into early next week.

Calm, sunny conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday, with little change until midweek when partly cloudy skies return.
