Fire danger is a growing concern, especially in counties like Graves, Calloway, and McCracken, where the recent lack of rainfall has pushed moisture levels to near-critical lows. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure trailer chains to prevent roadside sparks, and report any signs of wildfire immediately.
No significant cold front or moisture system is expected to break the heat before mid-next week. As a result, the region may see elevated burn restrictions issued if current trends continue.
