BALTIMORE, Md. – A cooler, drier stretch of weather will settle over Maryland starting Sunday as Canadian high pressure moves in, bringing a break from recent humidity and above-normal warmth. Drivers should prepare for slick roads early Sunday with leftover showers before skies clear.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, a gradual clearing trend Sunday will give way to widespread sunshine Monday and Tuesday. Winds will remain light, out of the northwest to east at 5 to 10 mph, helping usher in the cooler air mass.

Urban and bay communities, including Baltimore and Annapolis, will see daytime highs between 68 and 76 degrees Sunday, falling to the upper 60s and low 70s Monday and Tuesday. Mountain towns such as Cumberland and Hagerstown will be even cooler, with highs in the 60s and nighttime lows dipping near 60.

The clear skies will also bring low humidity, making for ideal outdoor conditions through early next week. Residents are advised to take advantage of the cooler air but remain mindful of rapidly changing temperatures after sunset.

Conditions should remain dry through Tuesday, though more updates will follow as high pressure shifts north later in the week.
