DAVENPORT, Iowa – A stretch of comfortable late-summer weather will ease into a warmer pattern for the Quad Cities, with temperatures climbing steadily through midweek. Sunshine dominates Sunday, but by Wednesday, highs could top out in the mid-80s.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, Sunday will stay the coolest of the next several days, with highs ranging from 65 to 71 degrees and overnight lows dipping into the low 40s. A mix of sun and clouds moves in Monday, pushing highs into the upper 70s.

By Tuesday, eastern Iowa and western Illinois will feel the rise more sharply, with afternoon temperatures reaching near 80 degrees under partly sunny skies. Wednesday is expected to be the warmest day, with highs stretching from 77 to 86 degrees. Overnight lows will steadily climb, offering milder mornings compared to the chilly start Sunday.

The gradual warming trend means pleasant afternoons but cooler mornings for early commuters and school drop-offs. Residents should expect light breezes each day, making outdoor plans favorable through at least midweek.

Conditions may shift later in the week as a new system approaches, but for now, the region will hold onto sunshine and steadily rising temperatures.
