Lane County, OR – Oregon State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash earlier this week on Highway 126 in Lane County.

According to Oregon State Police, the crash happened Tuesday at 5:59 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 126 and Huston Road. Investigators said a pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by an eastbound sport utility vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers said the driver did not stop and has not been identified. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a light-colored 2010 to 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Investigators said the SUV will likely have front-end damage, possibly low to the ground, but is still operable.

Police released a stock image of the same make and model to assist the public in recognizing the type of vehicle. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash or the location of the suspect vehicle to call the Oregon State Police tip line at *OSP (*677) or 1-800-442-0776 and reference case number SP25-3888949.

The investigation remains active as troopers continue to collect evidence and interview witnesses in the area.
