Jackson, Kentucky – Cooler-than-normal temperatures will linger across eastern Kentucky this week, with highs struggling to reach the upper 70s through Saturday. While skies remain mostly sunny through midweek, a shift toward pop-up afternoon showers is expected starting Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, highs will hover between 70°F and 77°F through Wednesday under dry skies. By Thursday afternoon, isolated showers could develop—especially south of the Mountain Parkway. Friday and Saturday bring a continued risk for these spotty rain events, with southeastern counties like Pike, Harlan, and Bell most likely to see brief wet weather.

Though no widespread rainfall is expected, localized downpours may create slick spots during peak travel times. Outdoor plans late in the week should include flexible timing and weather-ready gear. Lows each night will dip into the upper 40s to low 50s, offering comfortable—but chilly—mornings.

The National Weather Service notes no major hazards are expected, but residents should stay weather-aware, especially in southeastern Kentucky, where Saturday could see the most concentrated afternoon showers.

Five-Day Forecast for Jackson, Kentucky:

  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 70°–77°, low 44°–51°
