Harrisburg, PA – Drivers should expect overnight traffic delays as crews work to install new tolling infrastructure between the Harrisburg East Exit 247 and the Lebanon-Lancaster Exit 266 near milepost 250.5.

According to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, a series of planned slow-rolling, complete traffic stoppages will occur Thursday between midnight and 5 a.m. on I-76 eastbound and westbound.

The stoppages are necessary for the safe installation of a monotube structure that will eventually support future open-road tolling equipment. Traffic in both directions will be slowed and temporarily stopped in phases to allow construction crews to complete the overhead installation.

Officials urge motorists traveling during these hours to plan for potential delays and, if possible, adjust schedules to avoid the work zone.

The Turnpike Commission noted that rolling stoppages are expected to be brief but will occur multiple times within the overnight window. Electronic message signs and state troopers will help manage traffic throughout the project.
