Raleigh, N.C. – Light drizzle lingered over the Triangle late Monday night, leaving damp roads as temperatures held steady in the low 70s. Drivers should use caution on morning commutes with lingering wet spots on highways across Wake and Durham counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, skies will turn partly sunny Tuesday with highs near 84 degrees. Winds will remain light out of the northeast, keeping humidity high. By Wednesday afternoon, a weak system could spark isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially after 2 p.m., with a 20% chance of rain across central North Carolina.

The midweek storm risk may bring brief downpours and lightning but no widespread severe weather is expected. Outdoor plans Wednesday evening should include a backup option, as storms could affect parts of Raleigh, Durham, and Cary through sunset.

Conditions improve late week, with mostly sunny skies Thursday and Friday and highs in the low to mid-80s. The weekend looks seasonably warm and dry, though scattered showers could return Sunday.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates as storm chances develop midweek.
