Green Bay, Wis. – Thunderstorms will roll across Wisconsin from Saturday through Monday night, bringing the potential for damaging winds, hail, and localized flooding. The National Weather Service warns that the strongest storms could erupt Saturday afternoon and night, posing travel and safety concerns for communities across eastern and central Wisconsin.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, repeated rounds of storms could drop heavy rainfall, increasing the risk of flash flooding in low-lying areas and along rivers. Rainfall amounts may reach more than an inch in some locations, especially where storms track multiple times over the same area.

Green Bay, Appleton, and Oshkosh may see the most significant impacts Saturday evening when severe storms are most likely. Localized flooding could affect urban streets and rural roadways, while lightning may also disrupt weekend outdoor events. Motorists should prepare for sudden downpours, reduced visibility, and slick conditions on I-41 and Highway 29.

Residents are urged to avoid non-essential travel during periods of heavy rain, keep electronic devices charged in case of power outages, and move vehicles from flood-prone streets. Spotters are asked to report hail, wind damage, or flooding to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Thunderstorm chances remain elevated through Monday before drier conditions return Tuesday. Additional watches or warnings could be issued as the situation develops.
