St. Louis, Missouri – A stretch of dangerous heat will return to eastern Missouri starting Friday, with heat index values expected to soar above 100°F and remain elevated into early next week. Temperatures will rise from the mid-80s Thursday to the upper 90s by Saturday and Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the region will transition from mild conditions Thursday into a high-heat pattern beginning Friday. Humidity will surge in tandem with temperatures, making the air feel 5–10°F hotter than actual readings.
Areas across the metro—including St. Louis County, St. Charles, and Jefferson County—could experience heat indices near 105°F by Sunday. Residents are advised to take extra care to stay cool and hydrated, and avoid extended time outdoors during peak afternoon hours.
There’s little chance of rain to provide relief through the weekend.
