Louisville, KY – Drivers across Louisville may need extra caution during the Thursday morning commute as patchy fog develops before 8 a.m., limiting visibility in parts of Jefferson County. Conditions will quickly clear, giving way to sunshine and temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, light winds and calm air overnight will allow fog to settle in low-lying areas and near the Ohio River. Visibility could drop below a quarter mile at times, especially along I-65, I-264, and river-adjacent neighborhoods. Motorists are advised to use low beams, reduce speed, and allow extra following distance during the early hours.

By late morning, skies will turn mostly sunny with warm, dry conditions ideal for outdoor activities. With light winds, Thursday will be one of the calmer weather days in an otherwise hot week, making it a good window for outdoor work, errands, or late-summer events.

This brief break in unsettled weather won’t last long—temperatures push toward the mid to upper 90s this weekend, with more intense heat expected Sunday.
