Philadelphia, PA – Residents across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware will step into summer-like warmth Tuesday, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s under sunny skies. After some early morning fog, the afternoon will turn bright and noticeably warmer than average for mid-August.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, temperatures will top out around 90° in Philadelphia, 92° in Trenton, and 91° in Reading and Morristown. Areas along the coast will stay cooler, with highs in the lower 80s from Long Branch to Cape May, while Bethany Beach is expected to hold near 80°.

While conditions will be dry, the combination of warmth and humidity may cause discomfort during peak afternoon hours. Officials advise staying hydrated, limiting strenuous activity in direct sun, and checking on vulnerable neighbors.

The stretch of sunny, warm weather is expected to last into midweek before a chance of showers returns later this week.
