Denver, CO – Tuesday will bring bright skies and summer heat to Denver, but health officials are urging caution as ozone levels climb into the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment warns the alert will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday, covering Denver, Boulder, Broomfield, and surrounding Front Range counties.

According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s high will reach 88°F under sunny skies, with light winds shifting to the southeast in the afternoon. The stagnant, hot conditions will allow ozone concentrations to build, posing a risk to children, older adults, and those with asthma or other respiratory conditions. Officials recommend limiting prolonged outdoor exertion during the late morning and afternoon hours.

This ozone episode is expected to ease by Tuesday night, with temperatures continuing to climb midweek—Wednesday’s high could reach 95°F before pushing into the upper 90s Thursday. While skies remain mostly clear through the week, another round of isolated thunderstorms is possible Thursday afternoon.

Five Day Denver, CO Forecast:

  • Monday Night: Mostly clear, low near 58°F.
  • Tuesday: Sunny, ozone alert until 4 p.m. High near 88°F, low around 61°F.
  • Wednesday: Sunny and hot, high 95°F, low near 63°F.
  • Thursday: Mostly sunny, slight chance of storms late. High 96°F, low around 63°F.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, slight chance of storms. High near 95°F, low around 62°F.
