Phoenix, AZ – Dangerous heat will grip the Valley through Tuesday evening, with temperatures soaring between 107°F and 113°F, prompting an Extreme Heat Warning for much of Maricopa County.

According to the National Weather Service in Phoenix, the warning remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday for the Northwest Valley, East Valley, Central Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, and surrounding cities. Afternoon highs will peak near 111°F on Tuesday, with heat index values approaching record levels.

Health officials warn that prolonged exposure can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity to early morning or late evening, wear lightweight clothing, and drink water frequently. In Maricopa County, dialing 2-1-1 will connect residents with cooling centers, transportation assistance, and water distribution locations.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent shaded breaks for outdoor workers. Anyone showing symptoms of heat stroke—confusion, dizziness, or loss of consciousness—should receive immediate medical attention.

The heat is expected to ease slightly by midweek, but triple-digit temperatures will persist. Additional advisories may follow if heat risk remains elevated.
