A heat advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday, prompting health and safety warnings across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Albuquerque, hot and dry conditions across the Middle Rio Grande Valley and Chaves County Plains will raise the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for those without access to air conditioning. Light winds and lingering haze will add to the discomfort.

Wednesday: Sunny skies and afternoon highs near 103°F in Albuquerque, 105°F in Roswell. A slight chance of isolated thunderstorms develops late.

Thursday: Continued heat with highs near 102°F. A few sprinkles possible late.

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot. High near 101°F.

Saturday: Heat continues with highs around 100°F. Another slight storm chance returns overnight.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat, hydrate frequently, and check on vulnerable neighbors. The heat risk remains elevated through Saturday, with no major cooldown expected until early next week. More advisories could be issued if conditions persist.
