Hanford, CA – Hanford is in for a relentless stretch of dry, dangerous heat with highs reaching 98°F Friday and climbing to a scorching 102°F by Thursday, raising wildfire concerns and posing health risks for vulnerable groups.

According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, clear skies and light northwest winds will dominate the region through early next week, with no sign of relief from the dry heat. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-60s, offering limited cooling—especially for households without air conditioning.

High temperatures will remain in the upper 90s through Monday across Kings County, including Lemoore and Riverdale, before spiking midweek. Winds may gust up to 15 mph during the evenings, further drying out vegetation and heightening the fire danger.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors and pets. Farmers and outdoor workers should prepare for prolonged exposure and monitor for signs of heat illness.

This marks Hanford’s hottest stretch since July, and similar dry spells in past summers have contributed to regional fire outbreaks. No cooling storms or precipitation are expected through at least Thursday.

⚠️ A Heat Advisory may be issued if temperatures remain above 100°F into next weekend.
