Fort Worth, Texas – North Texans will endure blistering conditions midweek as a widespread heat wave drives temperatures into the triple digits, with heat indices soaring as high as 108° through Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, dangerous heat will blanket much of the region on both Wednesday and Thursday. Cities like Graham, Sherman, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex are expected to reach highs of 102–103°, while locations from Killeen to Paris could see heat indices ranging from 97° to 108°.
In Dallas, outdoor workers and commuters are urged to limit exposure between noon and 6 p.m., when the heat index will be most extreme. Waco, Palestine, and Canton will see temps pushing upper 90s to 100°, with minimal overnight relief. Prolonged exposure without hydration may lead to heat exhaustion or stroke, especially for the elderly and children.
Texans are encouraged to drink water frequently, wear light-colored breathable clothing, and avoid strenuous activity during peak heat. Take breaks in shaded areas if working outside.
Excessive heat will persist through Thursday evening, and additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen. Stay updated via weather.gov/FWD.
