Willisville, AR – A pursuit through southern Arkansas ended with a shooting suspect in custody Tuesday evening, following an alleged gunfire exchange with Troopers and a high-speed chase that drew assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO), deputies responded to a 911 call at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday reporting a shooting at a home on Arkansas Highway 200 in the Morris community. Deputies found a 47-year-old Rosston man suffering from life-threatening injuries; he was airlifted to a hospital in Louisiana.

NCSO requested help from Arkansas State Police (ASP) and issued a BOLO for 35-year-old Daniel Wallace of Rosston, allegedly driving a 2012 white Chevy Tahoe. Troopers reportedly located Wallace’s vehicle around 6 p.m. at a Waldo convenience store, which led to a pursuit northbound on U.S. 371.

According to authorities, Wallace allegedly fired on Troopers during the pursuit. Troopers initiated a tactical vehicle intervention, after which more gunfire was allegedly exchanged. Two ASP Highway Patrol vehicles were reportedly disabled during the shootout before an ASP Special Agent arrived on scene.

A second Trooper joined the pursuit, which continued into the Willisville community. Authorities said Troopers allegedly returned fire, striking Wallace and causing his vehicle to crash into a tree. After a short standoff, Wallace was taken into custody at 6:29 p.m. and later airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock.

No Troopers were injured during the incident, according to ASP.
